hi all

looking at getting a full width ramp made up for my trailer (permanently attached etc.)

the steel place reckons they do a 1500mm standard length ramp for mowing guys.

my seperate ramps are 2000mm, and at times a little short for the walker to run up.

im buying a cox, so i imagine the mid deck will catch as i go over the lip of the trailer.

So how long are YOUR ramps, and are they good.

also let me know what machine you load on them, so i can compare apples

thanks guys

I have 1600mm on both trailers for a Dixon & Hustler and have clearance under decks.

Keep in mind the ramp-over-angle will be determined in part by the height of the trailer deck as well as the length of the ramps. Won't be much difference though as there's not much difference in deck heights.

Mine are 1.6, so 3.2 when folded out, and have a slight curve, my JD with mid mount deck go up no worries. the height of the trailer plays a part. you need to consider the weight of your mower, I have some motorbike ramps for the small JD, but had to get heavier duty ones for the X595 as it is half a tonne with the mower, deck and me on top.

mine are 1900 long and i can tell you when the ground is flat all good but if the trailer is up a bit the heads of the bolts grab it my trailer when i get a new one will have a ramp thats 125 x2 so it ends up 250 when it goes out and i think there will be no problem unless your loading on the side of a hill with a down ward slope.

From my experience the ramps must be precisely twice half their length....

Cant argue with mathematics LOL

make some out of timber and keep cutting them down untill you get the right length.
My first ramps were made from old timber scaffold planks...

From another angle.

When my tandem trailer was built I asked for lower profile tyres (no not like Mario's Valiant Charger has) and not the bulkier higher side walled LT tyres
2cm or so less trailer tray height can make a lot of differences when loading the rideon.

I've had the same home made 12"x2" timber ramps for over 10 years. Fit beside the ride on perfectly, or put on each side with just the right space between for pushies....and unlikely to get stolen
