Hi all we are new to this Quoting, we just went and had a look at a job she said she had been keeping it good with an old victa and then a self propelled mower,
she did it all in sections as it is about 3/4 of an acre plus she wants the fence and around trees whipper sniped too we would be using our ride on and think it would take roughly 1hr for ride on and 1hr whipper snip pls help how do you measure your quote, grass hight is from patchy foot high up to head hight weeds and tuffs of longer grass all help pls we need help to quote as we have never done acerage mowing before even a little help with average house blocks pricing do you go by the hour or area and hight of grass cheers and Thank you

work out how long you think it will take YOU

then work it out at $90 to $110 an hour,

$180 for 2 hours if thats your estimate above.

then give her the quote.

if she says (*&(()*)()(&&*&*( you can reduce the quote

if she say YES PLEASE right away you went i a bit cheap and should raise it next time

if she asks for a "regular price" tell her you wan to do it the first time then will quote a reg fee.

take note of how long the job takes YOU for working it out next time

cheers

Good advice. That's the way I do it.
On some of the bigger jobs where you find it hard to work out the time it will take (longer in spring)or it gets done in sections you can give a per hour rate and after a couple of mows you can fix the price.
Good luck the bigger jobs can be a good earner$$$

If you know the capabilities of your machine then guestamate how long you think it will take plus if you have to take any greenwaste to away add the cost of that and your time to dispose of it.

Agree with happymowing better of waiting til you have done the initial job before you give a regular price. It can make it very difficult to know what a regular job is going to involve when it is overgrown.
