Was just wondering if their are any mathematicians amongst you..looking to calculate my mowing hourly rate.so example one customer i do it takes me 1 hour and ten minutes.i charge her $45 dollars.so what is the hourly rate>,,another i charge $35 and it takes 45 minutes, what is the hourly rate,or how much am i making per hour?is their a formula for this>/and i suppose is their a benchmark that a lawnie strives to make for doing a lawn $40 p.h or $45 p.h or even $50 p.h> thanks in advance.....daz

1 - ($45 divide by 70 mins = 0.6429) x 60mins = $38 p/h
2 - ($35 divide by 45 mins = 0.7778) x 60mins = $46 p/h

Guess the benchmark is personal preference, id prefer $80-100. Not that I can acheive this over the coarse of the day with travel time, but quite often can make it within an hr. for eg $40 + $50 lawn next to each other in 40-50mins. But it varies, the best thing to do is add up all your jobs for the day, then divide by 6-8hrs which it took from start to finish.

edge, mow and blow i would expect to do a $45 lawn in 30-60minutes,note if it takes me more than 40minutes I'm not happy but sometimes you have to refuel the brushcutter, mower and blower and reload the brushcutter head on a day when you just don't feel like working fast

Same add it up over the whole day from the time you leave your driveway to the time you get back..
$1 a min is a great start and easy to add up...

I work on $1 min on the actual job for any machine work. $50hr for gardening as half the time is spent cleaning up. So at the end of the day works to generally $53hr from leaving to arriving home. Saying all that Ride on jobs are $80hr. I have worked out a sq metre rate that works for my working speed that ends up being these prices. customers seem happy with prices for jobs.

yeah cause it takes twice as long with a catcher especially in the wet season when the grass is growing fast
