Anyone use a Makita RBC 2110? With 21cc does it have enough power to use a blade if you need to? What is it like for everyday resi trimming powerwise?

Gday hjl,
Was just in a mower shop yesterday, told them I was in the market for a new light brushie, he recommended the Makita RBC 2110, he asked if it was just for homeowner use, I said "no" for contracting & he steered me off it straight away, he said it was not powerful enough & would be frustrating to use for hrs day in day out.
Steered me onto the Tanaka 23 or 25cc(cant remember) or the Shindaiwa T230XR for $499 rrp, for a lightweight whipper.

I thought the 21cc Makita might of been good for a really leightweight option as the Makita 25cc gets good reports, but 25cc would be the minimum this fella would recommended, excepting the shindy 23cc which would apparently match other 25cc.

cheers

I have the tanaka tpc-225 which is the 22cc its a bit under powered for everyday use i have it for a back up. I only got it because you can put the hedge trimmer attachment on it. I dont know if it would handle a blade to well

Yeah, I have 2 of them - both bought for about $200 & $220 each. Head needs replacing but thats onlY $20 for a speed feed on evil bay.

I alternate it with my kaaz which does any heavier regular stuff and then use the Makita - 18 months now and really hasnt missed a beat as a second whippy.

I run 2.0mm cord in it to not overload it too much BUT my lawns are generally maintained and the edges only need light trimming. If more is needed the kaaz is used or if heavy stuff I use the 34cc backpack.

You will get some small vibration through handle but I use anti vibe gloves and that whippy is not used for long periods of time anyway. It will do the heavy stuff if a push comes to a shove.
