I see you can get the 36volt metabo hedge trimmer on ebay for under 400 only one battery though, I am thinking of getting one, anyone else using battery power? It wouldn't be replacing a petrol machine but I think it would be good on small buxus hedges

been using a makita 18v one for a while - seemed a bit of a toy at first but use it a lot now for tight spots, topiary etc - def need more than 1 battery with 18v, dunno about 36

Yeah Paul I think I would have to buy an extra battery and I can imagine how much that would be. How long do you get out of the 18 volt. Been looking at a few Makita do a 36 volt too

I wouldn't use it for more than 30-40 mins, might get 2 uses from a charge - not too sure though as the batteries get used in a cordless drill as well
