I felt something crawling up my leg earlier today, it was a funnel-web - freaked me out a bit, I haven't seen one for quite a few years, though they're prevalent around here. What is worse is knowing it came from across the road from home where I was loading mulch on the ute; it must have crawled under my canvas sox protector, stayed there while l drove to the job (3mins) then came out.

Have seen a few snakes around too, the last fortnight - Beware and be aware

We live opposite a creek and we haven't seen a snake in eleven years, but other neighbours have. How the the hell did you stay calm without it biting you.

Walked on a black snake while using whipper two days ago. Only about 3 foot and probably more scared than me. Don't kill them if possible cause a big black will kill and eat a small brown..

But looks like sometimes the brown has different ideas :)

wow what a week, first the funnel web; just installed some pebbles in a neighbours place, looked down, I was standing on a little red-belly....dead, thank god! I quite like snakes and won't kill them but I'm a bit averse to standing on the buggers.

Reminds me of the Sydney news reporter,
Quote!
Late this afternoon a Sydney woman was admitted into hospital for observation after being bitten on the funnel by a fingerweb spider.
