I weeded and mossed a couple of my poor, neglected bonsai this arvo. The chinese elm was a seedling from a large tree I felled about 8 years ago - I've got some much larger ones growing on, but stuck this in a bonsai pot for the hell of it 3 years ago

japanese black pine that got put in a brass bowl last summer with some rocks for the hell of it - added the moss today

got a few ficus, some around 20 years old but they haven't had much love for a few years, I'm a slack bastard lol - these one's have been here forever but need to be pruned and reworked

Great stuff Red.
How do you keep the water up to them ?
I suppose everything is in proportion so, with only a small amount of foliage, would only loose a small amount through transpiration ?
Cheers Fred.

I try and water them once a week this time of year, or more often lol, when I see them having a near death experience

Looks good Paul..
I have a customer that has bonsai plants all around his yard, its his hobby and he is always out there doing it when I do his lawn. Its something that takes a lot of time, patience and dedication to be good at from what I see..

Paul, take a drive down the coast to Yatte Yattah Nursery, will make you green with envy. Bloody hundreds of Bonsai, some are over 50years old. I built all the benches for him about 7 years ago. I usually try to get back there in October to help repot them, not this year though.
