You Know it's hot when :
You burn your ass on the rider seat
The air conditioner exhaust cools you down as you walk past it
Your sun screen melts
The street your mowing in is like a ghost town
Your brushies won't start
You burn your hand on the tool box
You can't see were your going from the sweat in your eyes
All you can think about is beer

...Your cactus after the first job.
..Sweat burns your eyes.
The humidity in Sth West Sydney is just energy draining.
..You take on a mongrel job and regret it after 5 mins of hacking away at crap.
..The hot air from the clients air cond seems cool.
..The fuel can feels like its about to explode.
..Lastly, sometimes I wish I had a stand on/ride on.

I knew it was hot on Friday when finishing up a lawn as I am approaching the ute I took my keys out and pressed the unlock button then pressed it again then again wondering why the mower wasn't turning off..............

Time to call it a day.

The last 4 days here in Cairns have been pretty bad. Real high 30's and humidity over 85% with N/E breeze when we get one. I handle the heat and humidity better than most, but there's a few patches in the year when I struggle and this has been one. Had storms to the north and south this arv, with a light sprinkle from one. That will just pump the humidity up more tomorrow.

Ya know it's hot when -
you stop at the local grog shop for a slab because you know it's got a "walk in" cool room.
2x other tradies are already in the coolroom taking much longer than needed to grab a slab.
You down one beer from the slab before you pick it up and, before you walk out , half a dozen tradies have followed your example.

Lucky it was a light beer, by the time I hit the checkout there were only 21 left in the carton.
And I've been "off the grog" for 11 years !!

For those mowies north of the tropic - hats off to ya ! Absolutely no idea why you don't go insane with the heat.

When a heat rash starts in those nasty places that need constant scratching :o

You know it's hot in Australia when:

1) The best parking spot is determined by shade, not distance
2) Hot water comes out of both taps
3) You learn that a seat belt buckle makes a pretty good branding iron
4) The temperature drops below 32 degrees C and you feel chilly
5) You know that in January and February it only takes two fingers to steer a car
6) You discover you can get sunburnt through your windscreen
7) You develop a fear of metal door handles
8) You break into a sweat the instant you step outside at 7am (6:30am in Brisbane atm)
9) Your biggest bicycle accident fear is "What if I get knocked out and end up lying on the road, getting cooked?"
10) You realise that asphalt has a liquid state
11) Farmers are feeding their chickens crushed ice to prevent them from laying hard boiled eggs
12) The trees are whistling for dogs
13) While walking back barefoot to your car from any event, you do a tightrope act on the white lines in the car park
14) You catch a cold from having the aircon on full blast all night long
15) You realise that Westfield Shopping Centres aren't just Shopping Centres - they are temples where we worship Air Conditioning
16) Sticking your head in the freezer and taking deep breaths is considered normal
17) A cup full of ice is considered a great snack
18) A black out is-life threatening because your aircon and your fans no longer work.
19) No one cares if you walk around with no shoes on
20) You keep everything in the fridge, including potatoes, bread and clothing
21) People have enough left over beer cans to make a boat and compete in a regatta.
22) The effort of towelling yourself off after a shower means you need another shower right away.
23) You will wait patiently until the day it starts raining to go on a run.
24) You worry your ceiling fan is spinning so fast it will fly off and kill you

You blokes have been out in the heat waaaaay too long. The last week I know it's been hot, 'cause the sweat off my face (while on the whippy) forms permanent puddles in my safety glasses. Never had that happen before. Had three small storms in the area last night which wasn't enough to cool it down, but plenty to keep that humidity way up there, and no breeze till 2pm. Mrs Troppo has been in Kalgoorlie for 4 weeks with new grandson and 10-15% humidity - is she in for a shock when she gets back!!!!!!!!

Yep, had to get a few jobs done today due to the rain we have just had, lucky the first one was on the rideon and brushy for a couple of hours, But did get burnt even with sunscreen on, and the second was a small yard with a almost 45deg sloped back yard. not good on the calf muscles that's for sure.

But got a $15 tip due to being able to turn up for the second job though, Small sloped yard not very long grass, took about 15-20mins total to do the job, quoted $35 she handed me $50 and said keep the change cause I saved the day lol. Ya gotta love some people.

Temp out there today was about 35deg with at least 70% humidity.
