Anyone using one of these? A friend purchased one today, it was amazing. Easily cutting through wild iris, hedging, grasses and lawn.

I'd like to see what the difference in speed is compared to a line trimmer

Lets hope OH&S don't get onto this, Aint nobody got time for that. It probably has a very limited space in the market somewhere.

It's essentially like having a round hedge trimmer or scrub cutter. I can't see a professional application for it yet. First stone it picks up and your either going to need an expensive sharpen or a new set of cutters.

I wonder how it would handle really thick matted Kik or those pesky marshmallow stalks. I can see a use for it if it can do that but the cost is bloody expensive for just the head.

i think around $425
I have the Maruyama version of this. I love mine. It does not throw rocks. The answer to my problems living in the Granite Belt.
It is slow compared to a line trimmer so I use it in areas that are high risk.
Mine cost $1000. $500 for the power head and $500 for the landscape blade. One can fit other attachments to the power head.
Works really well on thick matted Kikuyu and marshmallows. Can even be used under water in drains. Does an excellent job on edges but I don't use mine much for that to save blade wear.
Cheers
