Just bought me stocks of Selective Lawn Spray for Sept-October.

Buffalo, Kikuyu Bindi & Broadleaf Selective Weed Killer (Bromoxynil & MCPA concentrate). Same as Amgrow's Bin Die
5Ltr container. Best Price of $155 per 5Ltr (same as last year too).

Far better (profitable) than buying at Bunnings, anyone out there buying better than that for identical to Bin-Die as I do use a bit each year.

I go this path and don't carry Dicamba based ones incase I have a brain fade and use the wrong one on Buffalo lawns. Several of my customers are Buffalo or a mix of Buffalo/Kikuyu.

Been using Kamba-M with really great results.
A 100ml in a 15L knapsack treats 150 square metres
For better and more even coverage, suggest half the application rate and apply twice - north/south, then east/west.

Care with buffalo - just spot spray those lawns.

I believe Kamba-M is much safer for you to handle as well - who wants a baby boy with a vajayjay? (eg. 7 day stock withholding as opposed to 8 weeks)
Other than roundup, Kamba-M is the only weedicide I use.

I get mine from any good rural supplies/stock feeds store. eg. Elders
1ltr is about $35 (that's ten 15ltr knapsacks) delivered over ebay.
5lts just $117.50 delivered over ebay.

There are also cheaper 'other' brand equivalents. eg. Ravage 5ltr delivered for $90

But really, the best way to inhibit weeds is to ensure the lawn is healthy - pH, nutrients, water and water penetration, aeration.
Healthy lawns smother weeds, not the other way around.

I use both with great success. Even sprayed Kamba M and had rain after with good results. Dont carry much Bin-die as there's not a lot of Buffalo in my area and Kamba is cheaper to use.

Kamba, can't question that it's cheaper but when one has customers with Kik or Buff lawns. I've some with K out the front and a mix of K/Buff out the rear. So ain't gona chance it. At 58 I can sniff dementia ready to jab me soon.

Two streets away from home opposite my late fathers house 4 yrs back. An ex retired police sergeant who's still very community minded sprayed his 40 mtr frontage. Also his neighbour to the right being another ex retired copper mate and the other neighbour to the left.
He killed them all as all 3 lawns were Buffalo. Shee it was funny as these homes were very competitive for high street appearance.
Me being a contractor it's a Horror thought to stuff up, so I just carry the Buffalo friendlier variety.

Have tried many ag suppliers in town and can't find it cheaper. Actually cant find anyone who's even remotely interested to even care to see if they can source the Bin Die equivalent. Went to a specialist dedicated spray shop in town who has a show room and a fleet of utes to services farms.
They didn't care or even try after several return calls by me to see if they had source it. Even gave them the name 'Surefire Buffalo" and they still couldn't give a toss.

So I get it from a good supplier who sends immediately from Toowooba in a well packaged delivery. But was interest to see if anyone was buying it cheaper than me.

I'm a big EBay user as I get sick of local shops treating customers as a pain if your enter their shop and pull them away from their pc screen which is ever so important to them. Even more important than you walking in to buy and spend money. Plus the sorry we have none, but we can order it, this often for basic items.

Amgrow sell Bin Die , Kleen Lawn and Winter grass killer plus more . Ive used there products for Kik and Buffalo for years and never had a problem yet but must stick to the instructions. Winter grass killer isnt good for kik and buffalo so use it when they are dormant and at the lowest dose you can. If your using Bin Die for broad leaf you may need to use Kleen lawn a month later as there is weeds that one or the other will not kill.

Glenn,

If your been or are still using Amgrow Bin Die how large of a container are you managing to source and cost.
I could not find Amgrow Bin Die in containers larger than little bottles from Bunnings which is totally unprofitable for contactor usage.. But the Surefire Buffalo 5ltr I get is the same and have used it on all my customers last summer safely.

23 & 24 June is EOFY is the sale dates for Glyphosate 450, 20 ltr drum at around the $100 mark at one ag supplier in town as I need two drums.

I've only ever bought the small bottles from bunnings as I use so little of it.

Thanks Glenn,

I'm actually doing a few thousand$ out of spraying each season, so its mow one week, spray the next, mow next week, 2nd spray the next and mow again the next. So for 5 weeks I'm visiting houses each week.
Gets taxing on time management, but its my up sell and the lawns are easier to mow there after. Then there's the Pivot 400 with much less uptake.
Being in the country the weeds blow in of the land which is so good.
With the new battery 35 ltr sprayer and larger manual trolley sprayers I got from ebay last year I was doing larger properties in half the time.

Just home from the Rural/Ag type Mitre 10 store EFY sale - 450 Glyphosate 20Ltr at $99, so got two drums as I've already got one near full.
Their Cutlass Selective Broadleaf Herbicide 5ltr (equiv to Kamba M) wasn't on special but was $107 . Didn't want to buy the Cutlass as I've got ample stocks of Surefire Buffalo Selective Herbicide in now, but checked the price.

Glad that's all I bought as there was heaps of goodies straining the eye.

Been buying this as per above post, Buffalo, Kikuyu Bindi & Broadleaf Selective Weed Killer (Bromoxynil & MCPA concentrate) 5Ltr container. Same as Amgrow's Bin Die. Best Price of $155 per 5Ltr (same as last year too).

But the same supplier being in Toowooba I stumbled across tonight their ebay site again whilst not looking to buy having limited supply of 20ltr drums of the same product for $315 inc free postage. That's an equals an outstanding $79 per 5ltr.
Whilst my spraying job are completed for 2017, I couldn't resist not to buy it. At that price for next couple of years there's gone be huge profit in spraying.
So if one was to purchase the same qty from say Bunnings in domestic bottles the maths will horrify you.

Plus having the Buff friendly product only in the truck, one doesn't need to be home praying they didn't have a brain fade on that big cnr block and used Kamba.

Usually 5ml/1ltr, I might add a dob if the lawn is very heavily infested and temps are under 28 deg. I do soften the water mix to minimise water bubbling ie on cloverleaf.
Top quality lawns I usually stay at 5ml/1ltr. You know my gear used.

I may add that those are my own rates of application which I may vary to suit conditions. We all spray with different equipment, be it nozzle droplet sizes or multiple nozzles, pump or powered, along with individual wetness/saturation levels of application. Plus early/mid/late Spring or even early drier summer conditions can affect application rates. So these rates are not my recommendation to anyone. Always read the product manufactures situation/application guide lines.

Thanks Gary, normally get 5 ltrs also.

Have previously just done spot spraying but now getting a larger spray unit on my ZTR as some of my larger jobs have started asking for spraying of weeds.

Should last a few years

Great start getting it for that price of $150. Millions times better priced than Bunnings. Don't forget a water softener like dishwashing liquid.

As you grow the spray side of the business aim for buying 20ltr drums of the same product for $315 inc free postage. When ever ebay offers a crazy discount offer from say the Toowomba Supplier or your supplier after you have clicked on item many times to show ebay your interested is buy time.
Spraying for me is high profit for low manual work and I get mega work from mid August across October spraying and a lessor amount around Easter.
Time management is a pain actually maddness as the mowing picks up at the same time, so for one month your visiting a property every week for 4 weeks, mow, spray, mow, spray.
Be very aware of spray drift and build up your quality of spraying equip as more business comes in. Clover, Chic, Cape (I call Cabbages), Oxalis, Dandys are my best friends. Just get them sprayed before the heat

If you have done a Chemcert Course or Farm Chemical Course, its of real benefit to keep ones self out of trouble.

I don't keep Kamba on the truck, only use the Bin Die equiv as I'm so scared of a dementia day and using the wrong product. At prices mentioned above its really no issue spraying huge properties without buff using Bin Die equiv.

Thanks Gaz...good advice
I agree that spraying is high profit - low maintenance..

I bought an established business of an old guy who done a average job to be honest...
Some of these well established weeds take some killing.... and thick patches of clover just keep coming back...lol

but I'm learning and its all good

Thanks Gaz...good advice
I agree that spraying is high profit - low maintenance..

I like having spray days mixed in with run of mill mowing and I earn more spraying due to less time spent onsite.
But spraying can be dangerous/costly if not given the respect it deserves. Watch those shallow rooted Pittosporums, citrus/lemon/orange trees, roses and fragile flowering plants and the public/neighbours.
I carry footpath signage indicating spraying in progress and use if I think the job warrants such, ie high foot traffic area. I also avoid spraying anything near schools on school days as I have a job near a school that I wont spray during their recess/lunch breaks if I happen to be there at those times. (There are rules on that). Although the same school I saw their mowing guy spraying their nature strip beside the red/white school crossing at peak school time of 8.40am whilst the kids were there - amazing.

Sounds like your purchased round has lots of potential.
