Small business leaders and CEOs from across Australia will gather in Sydney in early July for the 2007 Virgin Blue National Small Business Summit, convened by the Council of Small Business Organisations of Australia (COSBOA).

More than 300 business leaders, including many from industry associations and chambers of commerce, will attend the Summit, which is the peak national small business event of the year.

The Summit will hear presentations from regulatory, political and business leaders on the important issues affecting the small business area.

The Federal Opposition Leader, Kevin Rudd, will address the conference as will the Taxation Commissioner, Michael D'Ascenzo, and the Chairman of the ACCC, Graeme Samuel. The Prime Minister, John Howard, has been invited to address the Summit Dinner.

The Dinner will be held on Monday July 2 to be followed by the Summit itself on Tuesday July 3 at the Sydney Hilton Hotel.

In this election year, the Summit will also hear a vigorous debate about the industrial relations and small business policies of the major parties, with presentations from the Federal Small Business Minister, Fran Bailey and Labor's spokesperson for small business, Dr Craig Emerson.

Senior business CEOs, and entrepreneurs will also outline issues and strategies ranging from the impact of technology change through to retailing challenges, the financing of business growth, international business expansion for SMEs, and the ways in which online and e-commerce developments are driving business opportunities.

One of Australia's most successful young business leaders, Brad Sugars, the entrepreneur behind the fast growing ActionCOACH business coaching franchise, will outline how he has built his business into the top ranked business services franchise in the world.
