There is a Greenkeeper at Warilla in NSW that gives his greens a dose of sea water. He told me the same thing that it works as a foliar feed. I can't remember how much he put on, I think it was 60 litres mixed in 1000 litres for 3 greens

yep, magic stuff, have used seawater for 20 years as a foliar feed,we would put 100 litres into 5000 litre water tank once a month and irrigate tropical hibiscus, they loved it rewarding us with show stopper flowers.

I know I'm dredging up an old thread but I was just wondering how fresh the seawater needs to be. Also it it just straight seawater or are we talking about a seaweed tea commonly called seasol these days?

When I was a kid growing up in Tas my Dad had an amazing garden full of vegies and fruit. We used to get seaweed off the beach and he would put it in a 44 gallon drum and also chicken sh$t fill it with water then leave it for maybe 2-3 months then he would dilute it with water and put it on his garden the results were unreal.

Thought that seawater that was so full of nutrients would have to come from Gunnamatta :))
