Hi Guys and Girls (Sharon and Eb)

Just wondering what you consider to be the best hand tools to purchase, I would consider Felco secatuers to be the best but what about hedging shears and pruning saws?

Let me know what you use

Hi Rob, :wave-hi: Hope you're well

Felco are good, as are Barnel and of course Wolf Garten.

For Example
Barnel B1100L Professional Shear
Heavy duty professional hedge shear for full-time work
Unique Barnel oiler for centre bolt lubrication
Strong aluminium handles with bumper
Large serrated blade
Replaceable blades
Large cut
Full replacement parts available

All the best

I agree Sharon, I am sick shears, secataurs etc. being green. Many time I have wasted time looking for green shears or secataurs under a pile or leaves and branches. They should be orange or yellow or some other contrasting colour.

Picked up a pair of these today... I think it was the B1100XL like on the barnel link above. I really didn't want to put them back on the shelf they were so nice.

I saw the Felco display at the Landscape Expo and they also sell pruning saws and loppers now. Can't beat the Felco brand from what i have experienced.

I've just gone back to Bahco Pradines long handle loppers, been using Fiskars but the Bahcos are more H/Duty. Felco & Pradines secateurs.

My old pruning saw was/is a Sandvik ?? (swedish I think)
Talk about quality steel compared with the new stuff.

I have always wondered is it worth buying disposable chinese cr*p saws or having a top quality tool professionally sharpened which will last years. ( I sharpen my own tools but every now and then I have a pro touch them up )
