Bloody hell!

Good on Ya Mate, I hope you enjoy it! Would be a great course mate, be able to specialise and cash in on those good niche markets most of us miss!

Big decision, but the money is fantastic too!

Why run a seasonal mowing biz with all the **** when you can earn those dollars and build a CAREER.

You won't be a mere lawnwhore like us then, you will be parlour owner! LOL!

Congrats mate, keep in touch though won't ya?

Cannot knock that back, and will be a fantastic opportunity. Looking at that group quality is foremost as it should be.

I maybe in the same boat, will know in a few days /week. Don't mean with Jeff Martin.

The next few days / week will be interesting to say the least.

But well done on your future Alex.

Congratulations Alex it sounds like a great career move for a young whipper snapper. Leave us old farts to whinge about moron slow paying customers.

From the bangalow pub to the hilton hotel nightclub what a move. Next you will be canning the Hilux deal to get a canary yellow Toyota MR2 and swapping the King Gees for Thomas Cooke Clothing.
As long as ya get a young blond nymphomaniac like Paris Hilton. ;frosty; ;frosty; ;frosty;

Half ya luck ;) ;)

Alex,

Congrats, does that mean you will be living around here again? That is excellent pay, never heard of it in this industry unless you are a qualified tradesperson.
I have a similar dilemma I have taken on a job in a nursery on weekend, they are just about to open this place, it is unbelievable already spent 20 million on the place, start of the art everything and they are keen from me to go fulltime. They are yet to offer the kind of money you are getting. Business has never been busier for me, but there is so much I can learn from this place, they have head hunted some awesome people to work there. I will wait to see how things go.

I've had a few people pretty keen on buying the house here so I hope that happens quickly!

It's just finding a place down that way now that is gunna be the issue but ya get that.

I think I'm keeping most of my equipment as it stands as I'm gunna need a ride-on for the new shack and I figure I can go out and do cashies on the weekends but I'll see :i dunno:

Thanks again ya whackas!! :)

Alex,

Did you end up taking this offer...............

Alex Callaghan
08-01-2005, 07:27 PM
No mate.

Basicly it came down to selling the house.

What I could get and what I wanted to get in the time frame I had to be able to take up the offer where two seperate things!

I've put to much time, money and effort into reno's and L/scape for me to sell it for nicks.
Besides.............the Mrs was keen on staying here, So..........

Shame though..............I would've really enjoyed and benifited the change but it wasn't meant to be unfortunatly.

Not selling the house and making the carreer change has stuffed up heaps of me plans!
Such is life though.................I'm taking the good with the bad and trying not to sweat the small stuff.

Don't believe the pay rate for an apprentice wouldn't be too many qualified greenkeepers around getting that sort of money, you can take your hand off it
