If you are running an BRIGGS & STRATTON INTEK OHV and it is hard to start this is a common problem the latest tip from b&s is to adjust the spark plug gap back to 16 thou.
This is a tip the mower shop will not tell you.
When I use the word you I don't mean any one personally

I stopped using Briggs & Stratton because I found them hard to start. If I ever get another one I will do that.

The only "Briggs" engine I would ever consider running would be a Briggs Vanguard 31''HP Turbo Diesel................Key start running a 72" deck :D
That is because Briggs Vanguard aren't made by Briggs. Not sure about the turbo diesel but the petrol engines are made by Mitsubishi.

Yeh .......I know.
I wouldn't touch a straton with a bage poll.
BTW: Daihatsu make the L/C Diesels.

I've got a rover 6.5 briggs intek, nearly 3000 hrs no problems.
Regular servicing is the key to longevity.
And a bit of good luck
