Hello Boys and Girls

I am going away this arvo, camping, fishing etc. and was wondering if anyone knew the true blue recipe for damper. Looking on the net we get everything from 2 parts s/r flour to 1 part water plus a bit of sugar... TO adding milk, butter, salt etc.

I personally would be thinking 2 parts flour, 1 part liquid (either water or 1/2 water & 1/2 milk or of course just milk) anda pinch of salt.

What does everyone else think, anyone have an opinion on what is best (milk or water etc)

Obviously there are different versions, is the plain flour and water the go, or go for the flasher recipes such as

DAMPER - A SOMEWHAT DIFFERENT RECIPE
2 1/2 cups self-raising flour
1 teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon of butter
1 teaspoon of sugar
1 cup of milk

The more I think about it, I am thinking i might just go similar to the above recipe. We'll see!

Any suggestions, if anyone has every made it before?

I know this is late but i know a bloke that uses lemonade and i can tell you they taste damn fine indeed.

Will get the recipe off him, would not mind it for myself anyway.

No, we had a banquet

We even ended up with a yellow belly on our plates last night

Brian, I would love the recipe, always open to trying new things!
