Hi,I have a walker MB with 42" deck.
The problem I have is it tends to reshape/ bite-in to some lawns.Have been thinking about adding a couple of anti-scalp rollers to the front edge of deck.

Thought I would put the question on here if someone has already done this to their deck before? if so how many? and best position?

If not I might just give it a go.

Cheers Deefa

Hey Deefa,

I have never struck this with a Walker. How low are you cutting? do you have the rear spring support attached? Tyres correctly inflated?

I have the optional deck height adjuster, I also have lower profile "nobby" tyres( maybe where problem arises??).

I am cutting on a low setting but I don't strike this problem with other mowers with rollers eg kubota with 44" deck.

Thanks for reply

I have the low profile tyres on one of my Walkers and don't get any scalping, well certainly not whilst going forward. My deck has been reinforced with a heavy duty lip around the bottom and it can catch the turf a little in reverse. But I can assist this with the deck lifter.

Do you have the big spring that goes from the rear of the deck on each side to the mower body in front of the seat?

No I don't have these springs?? Should it have come with them fitted or only on certain models/deck size??? Might have to have a look at one with them fitted.
Thanks again.

I would say that the underside of the deck has worn away abit, because mine (school) mows alot on lowest setting and get no scalping at all.

I think you can get new pieces for the deck and weld them on, i think that would be better then setting up anti scalp wheels, but thats just my thoughts.
