If my service man/engineer (i.e. my dad) only accepts beer as payment for sevices rendered, can I claim that beer as a tax deduction?

ha-ha maybe you could get him to write you a invoice in mortal dollars and then pay that with the equivalent beer amount out of your petty cash? Maybe

Money is ANY form of remuneration that he will accept!
Be sure to get HIS tax invoice to claim the deduction and to initial it as paid in full.

Good one fairdinkum.

Forgive me for hi-jacking your thread but can we claim presents given to employees or subbies say a slab of beer at Christmas or movies tickets etc.

The www.ato.gov.au website has a wealth of info on all things tax.

Try entering "client gifts" or "employee gifts" into the search area and see what it comes up with
