Heres an interesting fact "site" describing Camphors and how bad they are.
May be a good way to up sell some tree removal!
Interesting stuff! I know my Valley is absolutely full of them!

I used to do a lot of fishing for Bass in a few of the rivers of the Tweed Valley. The guy I used to fish with (who sadly passed a few years back) would paddle straight through any sections that had Camphor Laurels on the bank as the water was always "dead" with no life in it due to them.

I saw a huge slab table made out of it at the Timber and Wood Working show about 6 yrs ago. It was really beautiful. I was speaking with the bloke at the stand discussing it and said I would mind an off cut for a chopping board. He said take your pick out of that box over there and I got a beauty that only cost me a fiver. Been using it ever since. Hasn't poisoned us yet....hang I will go ask the missus if I can get her off the ceiling...:help

My experience with them is not good. Once they start suckering, you'll never stop them. Went to a house at Windsor Gardens where she had one removed, but she had tight arsed over the stump. There were camphor trees all through her yard & the neighbour's yard was a forest of the bastards!
