swing back blades on the ZTR
just ordered some swing back blades https://www.allmowerspares.com.au/ro...39k-36b-b.html that l'm going to try out on some old bar blades that l'll cut down to suit - sick of paying for blades at roughly $100 a pair, so hopefully this will work....:i dunno:
Re: swing back blades on the ZTR
Gee they are hitting you hard for the bar blades. I got a couple of sets of Stens for my Gravely (same company I think) for $32 each.
Not sure how you will go with the bolts. They are designed to be used with a D plate. If you add a D plate + the thicker bar you might run out of thread?
It wouldn't work on my 44" but I think your blades would be longer than mine. Where I'd have to have the hole with those blades is right on the step down of the bar blade so the swing backs wouldn't sit level.
Re: swing back blades on the ZTR
thats the price to buy them in oz, l'm buying them from US much cheaper but am only getting 20 hrs out of them in the sand - and, yep, they're Stens, l pay $210 for 12 blades inc postage .....$40 each here so $480 + post
Re: swing back blades on the ZTR
I pay $34 each per blade for the hustler. GA Equip brand and theyre bloody thick heavy things. Getting around 100hr use out of them and that's in sand as well. I sharpen them regularly.

Re: swing back blades on the ZTR
blades cut to size, don't have any drill bits that'll go through this stuff though....might try carbide masonry bits before dishing out for cobalt or proper carbide twist bits

Re: swing back blades on the ZTR
That should work, you might need to sharpen them with a grinder first and use plenty oil when drilling :)
