Just a matter of time before you can punch in a lawn mowing request in to your app and some geezer (maybe your neighbour or a chinese student turns up with an Aldi's mower, without a trailer, insurance thinking $20/hr is the best money his ever going to get. There is money to be saved by using contract labour that has no insurance, no reputation to uphold and no idea what it costs to run a business. That is where it is heading.
And if you think people will object to wiping out all the small businesses think again because 99% of the people have no objections to hoping in with an Uber driver.
I don't post on here much anymore becuase I have become a cynical old prick. When you open your eyes and see what is really going on it ain't pretty my friends.
Hey Steve,
Not cynical - Just awake.

So after receiving their email inviting me to sign up I asked where they got my details from.
Said it was from one of their partner sites. >> Requested their partner site!! Replied they got it off a a public site ..........
They invited me to unsubscribe. Told them to do it themselves!!!
So they are actively seeking contractors to take all their extra work! I wonder how their franchisees feel about it.
How much did their franchise in Dandenong cost only to find out some prick with a reasonable sized business and employees keeps jumping on and taking all the leads.
All the extra work Jim's can't handle apparently.:FU
Re: Things that make me grumpy
Anyone else getting invited to sign up?
Re: Things that make me grumpy
Probably only asking people they think are desperate for work
Re: Things that make me grumpy
I tried to use findlotsize.com a week or so ago and it said I would now have to pay a fee to use it.
Just tried it again and it's free again until July 16th.
Apparently it's due to Google increasing their prices but the increases have been postponed.
I presume it will affect other map measuring sites as well ... maybe.

The franchisee who 'owns' the territory will get rights of first refusal. If they not taking leads, it will be offered to another franchisee who is willing to take leads from that area. If there are none, then the call centre won't earn anything for having received the lead....unless they can sell it to someone not in the franchise.
Jimmies won't be missing out, since the above indicates they are flat out. Some at this point will sell a split (Business with customers) and then pursue growth again.
But then, SEM, you already know all this.. :-)
Re: Things that make me grumpy
Not me as of yet but I drove into an industrial estate today and looked the guy who mows 2 properties at the entrance to the street and thought bet your feeling grumpy,he has to mow the nature strips in front of these 2 places I guess 500m one side and 300m on the other side of the road nice easy straight run up then back on both sides to get the whole lot the council have just planted trees about every 15-20 metres on both sides.I say not me yet because as I was mowing the nature strip in front of the property I do I noticed yellow spray paint blotches about every 15-20 metres so I expect I will find trees there on my next visit :(

I got the same call too. They wanted set up an account but I declined too. I asked him for an email with more info but haven't received it yet. Maybe the fact that I told him I'm an ex Jims counted against me lol.
