Iris plants and how to kill off the new shoots

Alright here's one for all the gardeners out there, Iris plants in particular the new shoots that sprout up if you let the seed pods drop, what is the best way to deal with them and if you use a spray what have you found to be most effective? Round up/glyphosate doesn't work on them you need something a little stronger.
I've tried a spray with this ACTIVE CONSTITUENT: 50g/L TRICLOPYR PRESENT AS BUTOXYETHANOL ESTER and a holding agent which sort of worked but wanted to know if anyone has a better option.

I was thinking of trying a vinegar solution but any suggestions would be helpful.

Yes definitely Iris, wild iris, sorry i thought they grew from the seed pods but are you thinking they grow from a rhizome root system?

Either way i have them in a commercial property and the new shoots are sprouting everywhere making it look untidy, the new shoots aren't wanted by the client and have to go.

With the dietes they have rhizomes and will produce seeds as well ( large numbers of viable seed).
On a property in Balhannah with over 300 plants along the driveway.
I use power max round-up + Pulse and apply when the seedlings leaves are a few mm in length above the soil level which has proven effective.
I apply the herbicide every 4 weeks , is effective even over the cooler months.

Try some metsulphuron with the roundup

Thanks everyone tried the powermax but haven't tried it with the additional product. Appreciate the replies.

As Astro wrote, Pulse penetrant (there are some generic brands as well) is the key to success.
Don't confuse pulse with wetting agents / surfactants as it does a different job.
If you use metasulphuron (Eg Brushoff), Pulse is an essential additive for it to be successful (according to label instructions).

True, it is a tough plant & prolific seeder and even though it is a native, IMHO can become a pest plant even though it was liked by many (councils etc) as a landscaping plant. I have seen lots planted in median strips ....
