Re: Glyphosate, Good for what ails you
Just wondering how the slasher weed killer is going, looking into it now myself
Where do you get the 20L containers?
Re: Glyphosate, Good for what ails you
Re slasher weed killer a contractor told me to be careful using it around certain pavers, decorative rocks, pool areas etc as it can stain anyone had an experience re that.
Re: Glyphosate, Good for what ails you
agree Scoob..i was on it originally but it doesn't get the results like round up..think they need to go back to drawing board....nice way to sell the product but you need it to perform

Any experience Geoff re the potential to stain?
Re: Glyphosate, Good for what ails you
direct from there specs NOTE: Do not spray on porous surfaces without spot testing first. Slasher Weedkiller may cause discolouration on porous hard surfaces like pavers and bricks."

I've searched the web nothing in Australia about it
Another mowing contractor I spoke to said we may need to get a licence for commercial use of glyphosate like pest controllers have to have a license to use pesticides
Anyone know anything??
Here is the law for QLD, Not sure about other states though.

Yeah I done the same course when I studies agriculture. But the one they want for the commercial licence you need to have the "Controlling Weeds Module" which is not included in the ChemCert for some reason, which I am sure it was 20 years ago anyway.

I grew up on a farm, dad sprayed dieldren, glyphosate and others (242D), the only safety gear he wore was a terry toweling hat, shorts and a sleeveless shirt, had a smoke in his mouth while he was spraying on the old Massey Ferguson, no cabins in those days. he is 81 and plays golf three days a week, I reckon they are going a little bit over board but that's just my opinion.

hehehe mate i with you we used to spray blackberries with 245t lol and i am still going :scared my mum is 82 she used to drive the tractor whilst we sprayed this sh1it all over the place wearing shorts and thongs lol but that was there olden days and good genes i guess....some people only need a spit of toxins and they are fcked whilst others can drink and drink and still lead a normal life...genes dictate what we will happen....
Re: Glyphosate, Good for what ails you
Yep genetics play a major part. My Dad did the same as above and also ran a gardening business started way back in the 1970's and guess what Parkinson's disease struck him in his 70's, lived to almost 90. No history of Parkinson's in the family. After seeing what he went through its not something you want. Russian roulette anyone.

That's what I remember from my ChemCert training some ten years ago, altho my instructor drew a distinction between spraying weeds as part of garden maintenance as opposed to applying chemicals for payment as a complete service in itself.
Re: Glyphosate, Good for what ails you
I remember same thing, but pretty sure a cert was required only if you used any spray equipment over 15lts capacity. That was a long time ago so who knows now. Bit hard to keep on top of all red tape.
