Cheap Petrol Hedge Trimmers
ALDI has these on sale tomorrow:

AGR Machinery on eBay has these Baumr-AG ones:

I don't have one and I need to get one so I can win a few more jobs and gradually I'll earn enough to afford a better one. I like the look of the AGR unit but it only has 3 months warranty whereas the ALDI unit has 12 months warranty.
Has anyone had any experience with these cheapies?
Re: Cheap Petrol Hedge Trimmers
The aldi one looks a lot like my Pope one not sure if it is the same with different sticker??? if it is it'll go alright.
Re: Cheap Petrol Hedge Trimmers
For that price don't even bother about a warranty. Use it and if it lasts your in front. If it carks it you have lost 150 quid. Big deal. Buy it and do a couple of jobs and build up your cash for a better model and then have this one as a backup

You might like china now but half way thru a hedge and caput u mightnt like em so much. $200-$300 u will get a cheap Japanese one which will be 100% better.
Old adage
You get what ya pay for.
Does your local mower shop do interest free, lease, rent etc
Re: Cheap Petrol Hedge Trimmers
I bought a sanli pole pruner with a hedging attachment as well. Paid $499. It has more than paid for itself already and works on everything from diasma to conifers. May be a tad heavy and doesn't have as much grunt as I'd like but it gets the job done.
Re: Cheap Petrol Hedge Trimmers
Have a look at Makita as well. They have Robin engines my mate has one and loves it. I've got a Makita 4 stroke leaf blower and 4 stroke brushcutter - so far so good. ( Makita Hedge trimmers are 2 stroke)

My comment re China was very tongue-in-cheek ;). But I understand totally what you are saying. Might talk to a couple of the local mower shops in the morning about what they can do.
Re: Cheap Petrol Hedge Trimmers
both the belic and the ebay hedge trimmers appear to only have single reciprocating blades whereas i believe the aldi has double reciprocating blades remember aldi also have a very good returns policy
Re: Cheap Petrol Hedge Trimmers
The AGR ebay one has single blade and it doesnt open far enough to cut anything. total waste of time. I have one in a box in the garage with about 5 minutes use on it. It is for very fine material and even then doesn't cut well.
Re: Cheap Petrol Hedge Trimmers
AGR stuff is real cheap and nasty, go with the Aldi.
I am.
Re: Cheap Petrol Hedge Trimmers
This type of cheap cheap stuff is everywhere the market is being flooded buy 2 have one for spares still great value whereever you but it from .
Re: Cheap Petrol Hedge Trimmers
Keep buying the Chinese garbage, and you won't have a dealer to buy the good stuff from when it breaks down.
