Even semi retired to me means being able to get away whenever and for how long I choose, just the damn grass kept growing which made that impossible so that is why I now only do a few casuals to keep...
Sad part is a lot of the cheaper guys do a good job even if they use the victa 2 stroke and Bunnings edger and the customers are happy and they expect the same price from the next guy and so on....

If they are like the 560's it's worth checking under cover cause grass build-up especially when it gets wet causes no end of dramas...
Sad part is you can buy a complete sliding glass door (2400 wide) with a security screen for 1200 odd dollars (bought a couple 12 months ago) and the thieving glaziers try to justify 1 sheet of glass...
Gearbox complete (new) is worth about 120 bucks. The mechanic at the dealership built up the metal in the worn section of shaft on my old box (welded I guess) then machined the shaft back to suit new...
Same happened to one of my 560's. Go and see the dealer - mine was done under warranty even though it was used commercially - must be a common failing and is caused by faulty bearing. Worth a try,...
