Just order direct from Speedway sales or another US dealer. Get a decent USA mower and probably pay less in the bargain. Takes about 2 weeks max from the time you order.
Get your parts through...
Yeah Macka, I hated the independant wheel heights until I learned how to use them.
Front 1 notch higher than back = way better finish in mulching shorter grass, it does as you said and double cuts...
Pretty much covered any questions you might ask about the HRX if you take the time to read through the posts here on Indi mowing.
Bear in mind that all of my reviews on the HRX are based on the...
I'm sure the person that led the design for those blades spent 4 years getting an engineering degree and a further 2 years earning honours in computer design.
The entire blade design team were...
This will have to be one of the wettest Autumns/March on record for the Illawarra. Most Kyku lawns are putting on 6" a week and the ground is boggy mud.
Anyone with an old petrol Flymow in the shed...
Reading the description it sounds like a list of Honda problems all fixed.
They even have specifications !
For the life of me though, why in the world does a manufacturer try to sell equipment...
Wow - sounds like I was very lucky to get my HRX's from USA before Honda Australia managed to stuff up a pretty good design.
Other guys are having problems with the Aussie versions because the...
Check the lever at the box is returning fully and not jammed up with a gum nut or cr@p.
Make sure you haven't stretched the outer cable of the gearbox control, and it's stopping the lever on the...
Love your work Bluey.
Nothing quite as satisfying as beating a twit at their own game - with their own rules - as a novice.
You'd be lethal at chess. 10/10 well done !
Yeah - looked at the Husky's a few times over the years, pretty cheap and crappy like a MTD/Toro - possibly same chinese stuff with different badges.
The XE560 looks like a solid bit of gear, but a 5hp motor on a 22" seems a bit weak for heavy slashing.
Plus it's 75kg
Don't know the Victa 560 myself, but based on specs, at least it isn't as...
Just bumping this thread.
Seems like all the photos are dead.....
..........But really - the HRU216D is dead, likewise the "Honda heritage" and the "Chonda"
here are the results of 4 years testing...
No-where as good as a Rover with the full open rear chute, but the HRX is twice as good as the HRU - I think the blade lift and area, combined with the size and breathability of the catcher, helps...
OK fellas, the results are in.
Comparison between the HRU and the HRX is over.
One died.
Thread is here ...
Yeah - this is the Australian 2011 model HRU216D that was still "new in box" and the 2012 (USA) model HRX216HYA.
The HRU was put into service late November 2012, and the HRX mid December 2012....
Here is another retired HRU deck

Below is the 2nd HRU catcher bag and the original HRX bag

Seems like only 4x pics per post.
Here is the wear on the underside of the HRX - plastic vs metal = surprising results.
The deck has copped some damage in places, but no signs of through cracks...
Try again - bloody internet "improvements"
You can see where the HRU blew the hole - look nearby for the cracks where other holes are forming

The mulch plug and rear apron has seen...
Sorry, NBN network going in our area to "improve" internet.............. So nothing is working, and when it is, it's jammed.
Seems I'll have to post these in small lumps.- be patient.
Here are...
Well after exactly 4 years of going side by side on about 4,400 lawns (average 2,200 each) the winner between the HRX and the HRU has been decided as one mower has terminally failed by blowing a hole...
Monsanto = Absolutely trustworthy company (:shifty )
C'mon - these guys brought us saccharin, PCB's , agent orange, aspartame, frankenfoods (genetically modified crops), dioxin, genetically modified...
If I can stop those fat lazy b@stards at Honda Australia from ar$e reaming fellow grassies - it's an absolute pleasure.
I agree with the low end torque of the GCV - once it drops revs below about 1600rpm it just throws it's arms in the air and surrenders.
Would have to check, but the Briggs is a longer stroke, where...
Too bad you're not mechanically minded.
I'd replace the seal and refill the oil.
Probably only cost about $5 for the seal and less for the oil.
Depends how long you ran the box dry as to what else...
