    Default It happens!

Passing by Dawn mowers today I knew they stock wolf tools.
Been meaning to replace my 3 prong cultivator, so I walked in.
Walked out with a stihl hs 45 hedgetrimmer.............it happens.
First bit of stihl gear in years. Oh well........Imp will be happy.
    Cheers Fred.

I like mine. Thirsty little buggers though. I have the wolf combi 3 prong and stirrup hoe. My favorite, use it every day.
I want to die peacefully in my sleep like my Grandfather.....not screaming in terror like the passengers in his car!!!

By the way, what did you pay for it? I noticed that they went down by around $100 bucks the last few weeks. Think I saw them for $399. I payed $499 4 months ago from the same shop.

we love our stihl hedgers, nothing but good things to say. very smooth, but we also have the true commercial versons, i think hs80, or 85. either way, we have both versions. one is older, the other replaced it. the new ones have iso mount springs for the engine and a tuned port exhaust. very nice

Hi stump, had the 3prong with stirrup hoe but decided on just the 3prong this time.
Will mainly use it as a tip tool & prefer the push/pull hoe for general hoeing as it slides under shrubs were the combi can get caught.
    Cheers Fred.

Hi Grassman, will only be used in confined spaces. You need to go the pole hedgecutters if your fairdinkum!
    Cheers Fred.

Yep, the 3 prongs make great tip tools. I see where your coming from regarding the shrubs, but I like it on there to make the dirt look pretty after weeding. How much is the push pull attachment?

Mate that sounds like a bargain. I wouldn't use it as a cultivator though

The hs45 started easily & cut beautifully as u would expect from a new machine.
The novelty soon wore off though & I was quickly back on the pole hedger, even though it was a box hedge.
Keeping a straight back is what its all about. The small hedger will only be used in confined areas.
    Cheers Fred.
