i agree nice work but for long stuff like that i would usually mow first with the back up at the height i want it at thge go over with the catcher set 1-2 notches higher to pick up the grass

    Imoww,

They are faster than a Honda in 3rd, would be a bit slower in that stuff tho LOL.
I have to cut back the throttle for the other half as she reckons that it is to fast for her. Happy also reckons they are to fast.

yep, like the honda in 3rd or a bit faster.

i used the honda a couple days while the rover was getting serrviced

damn the rover cuts better catches better, just wish it had gears lol,

hard in tight spaces, you have to PUSH IT BY HAND like, lol

different in that its got a clutch (the honda doesnt, the sp bar thrusts the gears together i am told)

dont know if the clutch will wear out quick

its a great mower (just fast, lol)

dont know about ferals - would end up pushing it imo, as the sp is too fast and would stall the engine.

thinking about throwing the honda in the trailer too when i get a good tarp for it, then im set for all situations.

curious to see what your thoughts are
Yes, saw one on a website today. Looks like the Chinese engine has been dumped. New ones have Honda 6.5 or Intek 6.5 options only. Hmmm, was just about to buy another 850 powered one, but now not so sure. Briggs powered is 400 bucks cheaper though........

THat's the one Greenies was talking about. Sounds like the lawn mower companies put their heads together and made a decent mower for us...
Hond reliability and the Rover with all it's good bits.
Ive heard the Rover is great for wet, or long grass too. With 6.5 HP Honda??? It's definitely on my wish list...

I'm very interested to see how they've connected the drive for the GSV190 motor to the Rover. I'm guessing it's still belt drive and not shaft drive. If it was shaft drive it may mean the motor could be adapted to the 216.

Yes Paul, the gearbox is still belt driven. It mentions it on page 6.

i think that's an older pdf file on the rover website the only list the 560 as coming with the briggs 850 http://www.rovermowers.com.au/Produc...-Mulch-N-Catchbriggs don't even list the intek engines as being available for walk behind mowers it's now professional series 700/800 engines

Done some ringing around, and it seems these honda powered ones are extinct. Anyone with ads on websites owned up to not updating them properly.
