I think it is a good idea not because it would mow lower but so the deck is a bit higher as that bar that houses the axel touches the grass when your at 3-4 setting and you gotta give it a slight push to get it moving.

You could hunt around for a longer boss, to go on the main shaft, that lowers the disk also. Or if anyone knows ppl in the industry, have one machined up.

My local Stihl Shop carries almost everything, or can order for the next day.
I want to die peacefully in my sleep like my Grandfather.....not screaming in terror like the passengers in his car!!!

Im not surprised. They are making there products very cheap now, defiantly not the quality they used to be. I bet that move wont make the Stihl dealers very happy!

I believe some Mitre10 stores have been authorised Stihl dealers for many years, my local Mitre 10 in Dural, Sydney has been a Stihl dealer for at least 10 years. You don't get the personalised service that you get at a Stihl shop though. Much prefer to deal with the Stihl shop for this reason.

Could someone tell me where does the on/off cable fit to this Rover 910 engine
I never did see before as it was pulled off the chassis and handed to me as is.

You aren't really getting old til you reach the 80s,lawn mowing and walking should keep the body fit.
Just may have to pick your every day jobs wisely.
