Default Fed up with repair shop service.

Went to the repair shop on glynbyrne road in SA, they are about as useful as the guys at the place at gepps cross SA. I have gotten better service from buying parts online, not to mention a sh*t load cheaper price. I know the stores have to compete with online sales, but their doing it the wrong way, if your trying to compete with online sales wouldnt you offer exceptional service and try and at least compare with price (im happy to pay a little extra but not a huge markup). If they are struggaling with business and are losing money they need to take a good hard look at themselfs twice and change their attitude. No longer a customer and will tell many more!

Especially this time of year. They should be flat out. If their not there is a serious problem with their business, prices or their attitudes.

Try this bloke mate. His name is Phil Tregilgas. Brilliant bloke and he used to do what we do. He is my local bloke and I help him out and he helps me. He doesn't have heaps of gear but he looks after us contractors and I cannot fault him. I even do a job for him once a week cleaning up his yard. If you go out to him tell him I sent you. It may be a bit too far for you to travel though.

I've been there before, bought some trimmer line, seems like a good bloke. Looking for a new service shop, my last one really let me down... 6 weeks for a honda gearbox change over, not good enough

youve gotta learn how to do your own repairs..once youve done something once it can be done faster and easier the next time..even if it takes you all day to do something simple you wont learn till you do it yourself...most things are as easy as..

Yep I agree. I knew nothing and am not really into mechanical things but much of it is common sense.
Getting help on here helps as having an older model of what you are tearing apart for reference. You can still have things left over when you thing its put back together!!

I am now going to get my local mechanic who live 5 mins walk away to have a look at all my gear I cannot do, and only send it to a mower shop if he cannot do anything.

I have too say this gets me. I do minor repairs and servicing to all my gear. But and it is a big but I am no expert. We speak the need to get a "professional" to mow your lawns but we do our own mechanical repairs....I do what I can and then it is off to the shop. Every 6 months is a good time to let a pro look at your gear

Prob with the ppl from Gepps is the lack of customer service. They pretty much dont want to serve you. and are disinterested ....they lack basic ppl skills. Its the same whether your buying a brushy or a new starter cord.

Off topic but on the vein of the last post I had a quote today. Business premises on very busy main road. No parking. Had to go around twice to get a park. Go in and front at the main desk...10 mins before time. Two blokes in back office look at me and continue talking amongst themselves. Completely ignore me. After 3 mins I am pissed off. Turn on my heel and start walking out....one of the idiots down back says..."can I help you"...I say ....."no mate you could have a couple of minutes ago" and walk out. Five mins later get a call "are you coming to do the quote" ummmmmmmmmmm.......already been ther and your **** customer service put me off...." oh I am sorry can you come back"....NO
