Default Stihl Kombi system/ multi system

    Hi all
There is probably already a thread about this but i couldn't find it.
I'm looking at getting one of these kombi systems, just wondering if anyone has used them before?
My main concern being, the one motor being used for all the different tools, would hate for it to break down, making all the other tools useless.
    Cheers

I've got the shindi version and its well worth it.
If you use it as your backup whippy and then for a hedger/polesaw etc then its a good idea.
If your doing allot of a certain type of work then a dedicated tool for that job would be better.

    Thanks for the post,
I mainly do lawn mowing, and a little hedging and branch removal, so i was thinking i could just leave the whipper snipper attachment on and attach the hedge trimmer when i need to (every 5th job or so). then have a normal hand held blower to save taking it apart so often.

I have a kombi. Absolutely brilliant. The ease of changing things over. I used it today. First as a whippy. Then as a pole saw then as a hedger. Then I added the extension and did a bit more hedging at height. Would not be without one. To do what I had to do today I would have used 3 maybe 4 different machines. Storage is a big issue if you have dedicated machines for each and every task.

I bought the km90 kombi for the hedger &pole saw, but I asked how it would go with the line trimmer as my main whippie.

He said the km90 would be ok, but not so good with the 2stroke km56.

I don't know why this would be and I didn't ask, but that's what I was told at the time.

The stihl kombi is awesome.. only bad thing about it is it can be a ***** to start when hot. I'd recommend paying an extra 100 and getting the 130 over the 90 though as the extra power is phenomenal! not nessessary with hedger , pole saw helps a bit but main benefit is with the trimmer attachment as you can slash block or massive overgrown jungles with ease

The km56 is the domestic engine so id go the 90 or 130

I had a KM130 unit but found it to heavy for lots of hedging and pruning, so I sold it and bought a KM90. It's so much better for me. I would not be with out it. I have the carbon fibre extn which is great to, just watch the inner shaft staying in power head.

Yeah I'm looking at the km90 just to keep the weight down.and it will only be my backup.$599 for motor and $399 for the chain saw attachment.
