    Default Fixed Jet Carburettors

Adjustable carbie mixtures are being phased out due to EPA regulations naturally effecting most engines produced today.

Fixed jet carbies also ensure users do not fiddle and diddle with the fuel /air ratio .

Some carbies are also fitted with idle restrictor caps to prevent excessive ajustment.

Many carbies have neither idle or main mixture adjustment.

Without a mixture adjustment screw the condition of the air filter is more important because operators can no longer adjust the carbie to compensate dirty or blocked filter .

    Fuel Gumming

When Trouble shooting a carbie problem.

Gumming or dirt restriction in any of the needle jets or ports, or air bleed orifices, would be probable cause of power loss or erratic running.

Blowing out a carbie or the jets is seldom adequate to clear obstructions.

Carbie cleaner is an excellent product to erase the gum etc

Stale fuel or gum deposits must be removed by soaking the carbie in a commercial solvent but nylon bodies must not be soaked for more than 12 minutes to avoid dissolving and softening the nylon body.

Die cast bodies must not be soaked for more than 25 minutes to avoid dissolving the casting porosity sealing compounds .

Have you been caught out and charged eighty dollars for a service and all it was was dirty fuel .

This happens to so many people especially the domestic client and they are very really told why the problem keeps reoccuring.

They mow the lawn once a month and use the same fuel and fuel tin bingo contaminated fuel .

    Default Spark plug cleaning

It is far more cost effective to replace a plug than clean and reuse .
just do the exercise of 15 minute workshop labour against a new plug .When cleaning a spark plug care should be taken NOT to use a wire brush .the high speed wire brush will leave steel particle traces embedded on the creamic surface that could cause the spark to track to ground moisture and dirt can do thesame thing.

Contractors should have an inventory of spare parts at home or on board and have a reorder point for each item if u need help ring dean at indy mowing
