I have a Dixon 34 and I have to say I can't find a dealer that offers good service in Victoria. I have even had the wrong parts sent from the importer and was then told when I called up to say they wouldn't fit that I was wrong because they came out of the bin with that part number on it.

Apart from that it is a great mower but the after sales support means I probably wouldn't buy another.

have a good look at the big dogs - they seem good value for money as they are a cheaper version of the hustler (usually different decks, smaller motors & sometimes pump etc) but if you get the service which you may they should be good reliable machines.

I've got a Dixon and I buy the parts from the USA online cheaper than the local dealer can buy them from his supplier...

    Try this one. http://www.jackssmallengines.com/index_dixon_parts.cfm
Delivery is usually $25 and only takes a couple of days. There's other ones around if you google long enough..

http://www.lawnmowerpros.com/ are another option. I have an order in with them at the moment. It has taken a while because some parts are on back order but so far I am pretty happy with the service.

I do all my own servicing and repairs but it does suck if something fails and you have to wait for it to ship from the USA.
Thats when the backup Husqvarna gets used.....

SCAG Freedom Z would be worth a look as well, that or a Hustler Fastrak. Toro Titan Z might be OK, only thing I noticed about them is that you can't hinge open the foot plate so it would be hard to blow the top of the deck and do maintenance. If you were handy with a Gas axe grinder and a welder you could make it hinge but it all depends on price.
