I have a Toro 48 inch ZTR just like yours but the model before. I thought about getting a catcher set up like the one you have so that I could do catching jobs ...... but then I sobered up. I don't do a lot of catching and I don't really want to. I ended up buying a wheel barrow a rake and a back pack blower instead.
Everybody is entitled to MY opinion
I was wondering if anyone with a Hustler has the catcher option as I am looking to buy Hustler with a catcher. Does it work well. Jas has said the Toro one does and the Hustler looks like the same setup.
how long does it take to take those catchers off?
would it be a hassle for instance if you needed to catch a certain area then take it off and discharge another at the same property?
Chris, the blower set up takes a couple of minutes. The blower is quick, just a matter of pulling the pulley back and take the belt off the the blade spindle pulley (a little pulley is mounted above the main spindle) then you loosen 2 bolts, take off the shoot, and its off.
The catcher on the back, basically pull to pins and it leens back, then remove it, doesn't take long.
I mainly only catch so I hardly remove it. But if you just got a quick job, I just take the blower off, and leave the rest.
But I if I'm going to do a large slashing job I take it all off, including the front weights (found out that if the ground is alittle soft the front wheels won't spin a bog down and you get stuck.)
and throw on the deflector.
thanks for the info, doesn't sound too bad.
i see your pic has changed DavidS, so hows the hustler?
The Scag Turftiger is worth a look, although fairly pricey its a top notch machine, I have had one for about 6 months and it has been worth every cent.
I will let you know next week as I only picked it up tonight, got a bit ahead of myself with changing the pic. I am really looking forward to using the catcher. I have a few lawns that I hand mow because the owners want the lawn caught, so with the new one I should be able to cut quite a slice of time off so can mow more lawns in a day, or more time for me to play with my old truck.
