A friend on a fishing forum asked me this question,,i don't use ride ons has anybody got any advice that i can pass on to him ? cheers,,
As you are a lawnmowing contractor I thought you might be able to help me as I am looking at buying another ride on mower.I have MTD yardman that is a 12.5hp 38" deck that is about 9 years old and getting a bit tired. My backyard is relatively flat and doesn't have any trees or difficult to get at areas but is does have a leach drain under a part of the kikuyu lawn which I sometimes let get up to a foot high or more when the bream are beckoning or its bloody raining when I want to mow it. My mower can do the job but I have to use only half of the deck on the first cut as 12.5hp is not enough power. When I have cut the grass I use a sweeper that I tow behind the mower to pick up the grass clippings. I am looking at either a John Deere D120 or a Cub Cadet 1042 which are both approx 20hp 42" machines with hydrostaic transmissions. I have done some research on the internet and it seems that they both have problems but the JD may be more reliable. I have considered Husqvana as well.Do you know anything that would help with making a decisionor if there is something better for 3500.
Thanks,
