2.7mm would be a doddle for it, so try that first.

    thatd be my suggestion anyways

    cheers
Yeah that's right 3.3 mm would slow it down on the victa.Thing i do is swap 3 heads between 2 brush cutters depending on what lawns or if the spool has run out as a quick fix.sometimes the heat stops one of them, then i reach for the other one

Nylon/monofilament breaks down very quickly,I used to change line on my fishing reels(back when I used mono) every 6 months wether the reel had seen much use or not.
If what you used years ago is still available it may well still be a good line, don't trust the old stuff.

I had a look at what the local mower shop has on the rack, they sell trailblazer and jack max.
As the guy pointed out the contractors use both.
Another one which got pointed out called excel-trim.

Found trail blazer/diamond edge and excel-trim on ebay too. excel-trim claimed by the seller to have been around for a long time and out lasts most others. So i have ordered a small roll now.
Looks like there’s a few for me to try out,i’ll just buy some in shorter lengths and see what the results are.

So, after everyone saying diamond edge 2.7, you go and buy something else.
    Why did you even ask?

Do use the 2.4(makita)/2.7/3.3 Procore n Trailblazer ..the 3.3 can be a bit aggressive on those 'neat' lawns but is great on the ferals. The 2.7 seems to be the happy medium. Only thing that seems to be a problem is the 10$ postage on some of those rolls, is a little cheaper tho.
    Cheers.

ive gotta say the crappest line ive ever used is that procore / maxisharp stuff... wears out about 10 times quicker than diamond edge. i went around trying as many good brands as i could and diamond edge is best. there is a stihl one.. think its called super core .. its grey with a black centre .. it was also up there with diamond edge but was way more expensive. id take a guess and say that diamond edge and trailblazer are the same stuff but different shape/colour ... i just preferred the square shape as seemed a bit stiffer and better for edging but either way both good

must admit the only line i wanted to try but never did was the magnum gatorline http://www.indmowing.com.au/catalog/...roducts_id=645
looks exactly the same as the stihl one i mentioned but couldnt be bothered trying anymore lines as happy with diamond edge.

has anyone used both the magnum line and diamond edge and found either to be better (please tell me its diamond edge lol)

All I can say is what NOT to use...............and thats the green Victa stuff from Bunnings. They had it on sale once and I bought a truckload of it. It wears out real quick and I have to stop pretty regularly to feed more through. I love Victa mowers and have used em for years without fail, but as for the Victa line, I wont buy it again.

I been using gatorline super twist for a while. I's really good and extremely quiet. Never breaks or welds. But they don't seem to make a 2.7mm. I have found the 2.4 wears too quickly on a decent machine (like stihl fs85 or above) and the 3mm is too thick and puts a little too much drag even on the stihl. Also have not seen it in any shops around here so have been getting it from amazon. Trying diamond edge today. Will see how it goes.

I Drill a 3.4mm hole through my speedfeed head hole and use 3.3mm VORTEX line. It doesnt split like the diamond orange cord. Use it on my shini 270 and my maruama ?? 30 cc. However I use the 3.9mm diamond cord on my bigger brushcutters for heavy going stuff .
