The last two lots of honda blades I have bought have been so far out its not funny. Guys getting swirls and irregular cutting with their mowers should check their blades. When you put a new set on just mark under the deck one blades height then turn the disc with your hand and see if the other blades are at the same height some of mine have been 15 to 20mm out , oh one lot of blades was asp the other lot was from another place so its not just asp.

I wont (or probably wont) buy ASP blades again! They are tough enough but I need to take so much off just to get them balanced its not funny! If they cant deliver quality, balanced blades (2 out of 3 are cr@p) then Im not buying any more. Ive spent sh!t load of coin with that mob over the years. No more! That goes for the Honda pushy blades as well. One word (bar the number)... 20% Bent! And the nuts are soft as poo. Just be aware, ASP are cheap but they dont stack up against the name brands.

Try a set of Oregon G6 blades. Still need to check balance but no where near as bad as ASP.

WD40 under deck, Im not a believer! Ive done it and saw no improvement. That stuff gets worn off within a few minutes!
Theres better stuff called Fluid Film. Even they don't say it works under the deck. People have been searching for an under deck treatment for years. Its amazing what lengths and expense some will go to. I haven't heard or seen the answer yet.

Sorry mate. Dont mean to be a negative azzhole. I am, but I dont mean to come across like it!
Hey Mick can you get the G6 blades any where in Oz? I been getting stens gators from jacks small engines for the wet weather, there not to bad but looked at the G6 on the oregon site and big difference with the cutting edge going right to the centre hole.Stens cutting edge only go within say 1.5 inch of center hole.

I got them through the Hustler Rep. Ask you local Hustler dealer. They are the same mob as GA Spares etc. If they cant help let me know and I could give you a number, but try you local dealer first.
The G6 blades have a quite a bit of lift and have the hardened edge like the Fusion blades. They are basically a heavier cross between Fusion and mulching blades.
I dont worry to much about the cutting edge being long. Grass only gets cut in the first 2 or 3" of the blade.

There will be another blade coming out at some stage call the G5. Its lighter so probably better for lesser powered engines.

HPM I use a catcher somtimes, depends on the job and lawn. I have justed finished a job today were I used the side throw to knock the lawn down to a reasonable height then I ran over it with the catcher to pick up all the grass. Usually I use the catcher on my better clients places, does a good job, just need to keep eye on catcher, can fill up quick and fill up the tube to, then it can take awhile to clear the tube and it makes a mess emptying it, then you have to run mower over the mess to pick it all up again. Also long wet grass is a problem, if dry long grass no problem.

I see that Scag Freedom Z's are about $ 8000 at the moment. Not a bad price for a pretty good mower.

Just a update on the Hustler, we now have 350 hrs on it and have had no major problems, damaged the side throw chute and bent a blade otherwise a great mower. Only draw back is wet grass sticking under deck but that seems to happen to all ZTR's. My other half who uses it most of the time loves it. Drives it around town mowing lawns for me while I get to tidy up after her and hand mow yards where we can't get the ride on in. I would recommend the Hustler to anyone wanting this size mower. Love the catcher, especially in Autumn for picking up leaves, saves raking them up.
