    Default Google Adwords con

Does anyone use adwords for their business. Ive been using the free $75 offer and it seems that every day my budget for adds is used up by like 8am!!!! and from people outside my area ie in sydney or melbourne. We pay per click and once your daily budget is used up the ad gets taken down. so its in the interest of the big businesses ie j*ms and other to click on other peoples adds so that they disappear and the big bus are the only ones left......... Or even google clicking their own adds to make money

I've been using it on and off for a few years. I have had some adds going since about December and have found it pretty good.

What settings do you have your adds on? I have a daily budget of $9, and have certain phrases at a higher budget. You should be able to set which areas and which people your adds show for as well so you can concentrate on the people you want.
I think if I throw $70 on it, it usually lasts me anywhere from 3-6 weeks.

I have it targeted at people in SA only, i check and get alot of people clicking through but not looking at the site as it shows them being their for o seconds! its only currently listed for search engine only so its not like people are clicking it on their sites to make money. Same budget around $10 per day. some keywords are over $3 per click. thing is whose online before 8am looking for a lawn mowing guy in adelaide when they live in sydney or melbourne!

you can set the times the ad shows too and set the area to where ads are shown which will avoid some wasted clicks
there is a lot of competition for adwords so $3 a click is pretty average for lawn mowing type keywords i find.
you can also ad negative keywords eg. "cheap" so if anyone searches 'cheap lawnmowing' your not gonna waste your cash showing an ad to that type of customer (unless thats what you are targeting then you would use diff words!)

I used it initially but found it really was not worth the cost

    Interesting.
I noticed when I type in my business name, there would be adds for my competition in the sponsored links section.
