    As for general gardening....
    Weeding,
    Mulching, turning the soil.
Clean trees. ( Old leaves off the trees) either have landed onto the tree or old leaves that have died still attached to the tree)
Blowing leaves away or pick up.
Trimming back branches hanging over the driveway,
    Hedging,
Dont they call this garden rejuvenation?

Geoff, what area are you in?
Because the gardeners in Sydney's inner suburbs are making a packet.
Im just cashing in on the general gardening for the winter periods. Which also includes minor landscaping....

We get alot of requests to trim back, or remove designer type plants in recent housing estates. Mostly for masive New Zealand Flax planted in tiny yards and garden beds. My brother now has a sea of them surrounding his pool (large property) donated from my clients lol. We do alot of garden bed care as part of upselling to our mowing clients, particulary small hedges and weed control.

Turning the beds is old hat & generally not all that beneficial unless u r creating a new bed.
It can be quite detremental to existing garden beds bringing ungerminated weed seeds to the surface & destroying root systems of existing plants.
When weeding the garden beds, we LIGHTLY turn/sratch them with a push/pull hoe or 3 prong cultivator.
This allows better water/air penetration & asthetically freshens them up.
Mulched beds, we generally just weed.
    Anyone got anything else?
    Cheers Fred.
yeh i just use a mini 3 prong cultivator... she just likes the textured appearance

At this time of year when hoeing, try to make sure the weed is udsipe down, totally detached, etc.
If not they can re attach, u've wasted your time.
Harder hoeing in summer but they fry heaps quicker.
    Cheers Fred.

I'm a bit disappointed with the Wolf extension pole. I bought one for cleaning palm trees and at full extension the flex is just too much. Makes the job a lot harder than it should be. Was considering the Barnell set-up but it's three times the price.

Paul, I have both the wolf 4m & the barnel 6m triple extension pole.
If u think the wolf pole flexes too much, dont even consider the barnel, the flex on that is bordering redic.
It works ok with the saw, but even then there's plenty of flex.
The barnel cutting head is beautifully built but the design makes it quite awkward to use in anything but open spaces.
    Cheers Fred.

The Wolf saw is great but I should have got the one without the loop thing on the end. I think it's there to stop the saw sliding out of the cut on the pull stroke but in the base of palm fronds and pods its a nuisance. The Wolf gear is a good price though. I think I paid about $110 for the 4 metre pole and saw attachment. The Barnell on Forestry Tools website was $340 or thereabouts. Didn't realise it was 6m and triple extension. You'd think with three extensions it wouldn't flex too bad. I guess it's the same as two extensions out to 4 metres with the Wolf though.
