    Default stihl blower problem

    Hi all
I have a stihl br400 backpack blower , I am having troubles with the high mixture screw it keeps moving and making it run rich after about 15min use ,then i have to adjust it back
i need to fix it so it doesn`t move with vibrations
    maybe lock tight or something??
    any ideas please

can you just take the spring off and try to stretch it simo to put a bit more tension on the spring ????????? just count the number of turns on the screw / jet , when un doing it ...

Hey Simo, The thread in the alloy housing wouldn't be stripped would it? That might let the screw skip at thread or 2 with the vibration.

I think the basic screw setting is something like 1 turn out from seated, and that is usually plenty of tension on the spring to stop the screw from turning.

isnt there a locking cap that goes over the screw to hold it in place and limit the settings? could still be in the shroud surrounding the carby?

Thanks edbeek I`ll check to see if it`s stripped also, if so may be a new carb to order hope not
