Does anyone have a policy re turning over vehicles at a certain age/km's?
    Just the economics of it?
Effort & availability of parts, consideration into putting money in as the vehicle gets older because every part of its gettin older.
Throwing good money after bad or not?
Or do u just deal with it as it comes along?
Same could be said about tools, but thats another story!
    Cheers Fred.
The plan is to upgrade every three years, depends on market.
I do on an avg of 40,000 kms per year

Im hoping to do the same with the rideon, but need a bitt more work.

Could be a waste of money, but nice to just hop in and go, no down time

an avg of 40,000 kms per year i would say you'll need more than just a bitt more work to do that with a rideon
Anything Ian says may or may not be garbage, it may also be his own opinion or it may not be his opinion at all, it may just be something he felt like stating anyone following his advice does so at their own risk and may be doing something Ian would actually advise against.
And if you don't like what Ian has to say use the ignore function if you don't know how ask i will gladly tell you

Yes. lol I love my vx wagon and it's getting a bit old now, however I love the one button entry access to tools etc and when I can I unhook the trailer and speed around doing quotes and visiting the mower shops etc parking anywhere rather than where you can fit. But upon saying that the fumes and other smells and dirt and crap are wrecking it. It's about priorities for me, there's things I'd like, things I need and costs I can and can't justify. That dual cab vw that stripes has looks great and would very practical so maybe that's the way I'd like to head in a couple more years when I'm a bigger fish. I like Blackbears set up too it's very practical for work, big tray with two layers for everything and those under tray lockers for the small stuff, it's a real tried and tested set up.

It has so much room Andy. I needed a dual cab as I often have to drop off and pickup the kids, and this thing was the biggest dual cab I could find without jumping into the larger truck category. Its half a metre longer than a dual cab hilux but has a much bigger tray. It has stacks of room inside as well and underneath the backseat is a decent size storage compartment. The tray is 2.2 x 2.0 and 400mm high sides. It's basically a dual cab with a single cab tray. It is a bit of a pita to park in car spaces as it is pretty big, but you just have to be a bit more careful when parking and opening the doors. The height is a bit of an issue in some carparks too. The Diesel has been using about 9.5L/100km's so I'm very happy with that compared to the V6 Hilux that uses about 15L/100.
