Default Honda choke not working on 21"

Honda motor is known for the choke not working since a small metal bit bends out of shape.
Sure it can be bent back to engage the choke butterfly for cold starts, but bending it back every so often it will eventually break off.
Any solution for this Honda problem. Most should know what part i'm talking about.

Can you bend it back into position as best you can and adjust the throttle cable?

A few things to look at, when ur at full choke, go to ur motor and check that your choke leaver is fully open, its a black tab,

What happens is watching how the cable pushes the throttle open then it starts to push open the choke and it stops half way,i tried helping it with a screw driver using it as a lever and it needed a bit of force.
I’ll give it a good long WD40 spray in the morning and see if it moves a bit easier before i bend it back in place.

Once he takes the cover off you see a square hole next to a spring on the left, that’s the bit in the middle “L” shape lever

I think you have to re-adjust the cable. Sounds like the cable has slipped out of the sleeve

i agree with imoww. Spoke to my mower guy and he guaranteed me that was the problem.Adjusted the cable and all was fixed. Easier to start too.

In the end i had to bend the "L" shape lug back to it's original factory position.Been fine since.Adjusting the cable would have done little in this case.
I never had this problem with the 5HP hondas from 30 years ago.

I watched the video that Beetlejuice linked and it got me thinking......I was told my mower had been "done" but there is no way I'm power walking when it's flatout in 3rd......so I grabbed a digital tacho and checked.....2300rpm. Now it's running at around 3200rpm and it's supa-mower.....amazing difference in cut, power and speed.

Jeez 2300. Was anything going into the catcher. That's even lower than the factory default I think

Catching was a bit "sluggish" in anything other than relatively short, dry grass.....had plenty of short, not so much dry lately.
