Rose_Fig07.jpg just found this on the 'net, there is a heap of threads on it.

an extract from rosecare.com "Damage from the popular non-selective herbicide glyphosate (Roundup) is commonly mistaken for disease or insect damage on roses. Be aware that damage from Roundup can occur the following season if fall applications are made near your roses and accidentally drifted on the susceptible green stems."

If I have to spray Glypho near Roses, Natives etc I always try to do it on a still day, early in the morning etc. Also a driftguard on the end of the spray lance gives some extra protection but when using a fine spray/droplet size it's amazing how much drift is possible.

David do you find Verdict works any better or differently then Fusilade on the grasses in garden beds?

I have a set of welding Gauntlets, but the ones I bought from the weld supply place have very thin and supple hand sections with very long and thick arm protection. Great for pruning roses and weeding around roses too.
D day tomorrow, Thanx David hoping to get out of this area & work in the backyard.
The backyard is worse but not as fiddly. Therefor creating the illusion of a greater effort
However, Iwill be advsing her of spraying with the chemical you mentioned.
Considering it may take a few repeat applications with a period in between, it might be a hard sell but I will try never the less.
I rarely use anything but Glypho which at this time of year takes forever to take effect due to the absorbtion rate.
Would this also be slower at this time of year?
Also could u give me an idea of cost?
    Cheers Fred.

Fred the Verdict cost me $82.50 form my local Agri supply store, Yes it works slower at this time of year. The other option I use is to hand paint kikuyu with the glove of death and then a couple of weeks later I spray the rest with the Verdict or Glypho. I like the Verdict because it won't kill the other plants and does not hurt the Roses as Glypho does.

I use Verdict because it is about $80.00 cheaper than Fusilade Forte which is basically the same stuff.

That's a good earner for you imoww. Everybody is happy which is the main thing.

I stuffed up yesterday on an overgrown backyard. Grass was long but not overly thick and not a huge area. Access was bad so had to bag the waste out. I saw where 6 palms had been cut off along the back fence. I considered all of that in my quote.
What I missed was when they cut the palms, because they couldn't get the truck in, they mulched the trunks and sprayed the pulp all over the place.(now under 2 feet of grass)
I think I sucked up most of it with the mower. 3 or 4 catchers in a woolpack and I could barely drag it out and tip it into the trailer.

I got the regular job out of it at a good price, so it will balance out eventually.

    Good one EDBEEk.
    Thanks guys.
As for the good wager i got in the pic.... Well. It wont be mowing.
The ground is full of car parts, tree stumps and large wholes.
So.... it will take some time to do. Access is the normal 3 mtrs wide side access....
