Would be a good time to suggest a good mulching to avoid a third repeat. Would cost her way less in the long run!!!!!!

Hey Fred I found some stuff that really works well on Kikuyu but it's $154.00 for 100ml, it works best in Autumn and you have to give it 2 applications. I use it 3ml per 5 ltrs. Probably not so good for that garden though as you can't see where the plants are. I use it more on Couch lawns and gardens where I can see where the plants are. Only for regulars though as I can plan to spray first week in April and then end of April.
"Monument Liquid Turf Herbicide "from Syngenta.

After reading the label for Monument, I reckon that one had better be very careful using the stuff and make sure you have good public liability insurance as it appears that drift of the spray onto suscectiple lants (almost any non turf plant) will result in damage / death and the APVMA registration is conditional upon using the correct spray nozzle size to reduce spraydrift and maintaining written records of its use. Looks like drift has/is a real issue with it and a Chemcert qualification would be mandatory.
They also make big point of wash-up /decontamination of equipment after use to prevent damage to plants when used after with other herbicides.
I could quite expect (have not looked up the regs) that it's use in certain areas
(horticultural, nursery, grape growing) may be banned such as some of the other herbicides that have a reputation for causing drift damage.

My take -- use with extreme caution and FOLLOW instructions.

Yep your right Joe, that's why I have a Chemcert qualification and write up a spray application sheet for all chemicals other than Glyso, I write up my diary for glyso applications. Spray drift is not to much of a problem if you drop the pressure in your spray unit. I use a Solo 5 litre bottle which I use a pressure gauge on the handle, I usually run at 20 psi but with drift a problem I just run between 10 and 15 psi, this gives you larger droplets and less chance of drift. Wash up with Washing Soda crystals and that cleans it up nicely. I have 3 Solo units that I use, 1 for Herbicides 1 for Pesticides and 1 for Fungicides saves a lot of hassles. Not really for home garden.

I used monument around 5 yrs ago and it truly is a miracle chemical against kikuyu in couch turf. Seems to have come down in price because it was like purchasing gold back then, so only the true lawn lovers would have me use it. I gave up pushing the product due to the cost.
