If your budget is around the $7,000 mark i'd suggest a Dixon or Toro zero turn up to 42inch cut, you'll be able to get a mulch plug and catcher system in that price.

I have an Ariens ZoomXL 42" ZTR.....$7060 with a mulch kit, 22hp Kohler engine.....I'm very happy with it.....mind you, it's the only ZTR I've had so I have nothing to compare it with. Came with a 3 year commercial use warranty.
I have a Dixon Black bear 34. Great mower, crap after sales support in Victoria. Don't know if the other states are any better.
I'd REALLY like a gravely compact pro 34 - but, jeez louise, not cheap!

Kathryn if your looking at Dixon I stopped into a place in Toowoomba today to grab a set of gattor blades for the Ferris, they had the whole Dixon range on display and gave great service, they also agent for Ferris and are not too far from you. If your interested there is a non suspension Ferris just gon up on e-bay with a 28hp Briggs commercial donk and 61inch deck in Kingaroy only 3 hours work, asking $7500 buy it now, offer him $6500 to start and go to $7000 if you need to. It looks a great buy, its the one I tried buy first before Briggs couldn't supply.

That'd be Motor Mecca out on Anzac Avenue. Gee Sharpie you travel a long way for parts!!
Yes I like to share my business around the state. I'm still reping part time and my sales area incudes as far out as Roma and Gundy and north as far as Bundy so I get around the bush a bit. It does let you check out prices around the state though and pick up some great bargains along the way.

Plenty of mowers to choose from these days if you have cash to spend, If you can find a dealer that looks after you thats probably most important if it's your first ztr or rider. I've used husky, everide ,hustler there all good but now using toro because local dealer is great.
cheers guys. im still doing research and seeing whats around. sharpie, sorry i didnt call you yesterday. didnt find your message on my phonetill too late and then i forgot later. hows about next week
