    Default Thank you Casey council

    Hi all,

My local council (casey) has landed me a heap of work lately. They have sent out letters to all vacant land owners reminding people to get their blocks mowed. It reads as if the block is in a bad way and urgently needs mowing. I received one of these letters and I assure you my block is not long. I mow it every 10 days or so, It almost looks like parkland.
We got our letter on Tuesday. Wednesday I received 4 phone calls for vacant blocks. Quoted all on Wednesday morning about 6 am. At 8 am I got another 2 calls. Quoted them Wednesday arvo. Thursday 2 more calls and then today another 3. Thats 11 calls to mow blocks of land. Some of the blocks are overgrown but most are not bad at all. Of the 4 overgrown ones only one has accepted. And out of the other 7, 5 have booked cuts for next week. I would like to thank Casey council for all this work.

    Cheers Rick

I would love to see the letter... does it look as though it is from council?

I might try a new marketing angle (vacant blocks and houses)

My gf got one from her council for a vacant block up country, yes its council letter head, and just basically says you must cut to a certain height, by a certain date, or you get a fine. Another one I saw a couple of years ago, also said if you dont do it, we do it, but charge you mega dollars.

i don't think they actually say this just people assume and lets face it if the council rings a contractor and asks them to do the work most will charge as much as they think they can
Anything Ian says may or may not be garbage, it may also be his own opinion or it may not be his opinion at all, it may just be something he felt like stating anyone following his advice does so at their own risk and may be doing something Ian would actually advise against.
And if you don't like what Ian has to say use the ignore function if you don't know how ask i will gladly tell you
