It landed on the front top corner and the glass screen shattered all the way down into about 100 pieces. The phone still works fine but to get it repaired is gonna cost $300. So I decided I'd try and fix my htc one xl (Which I'd "soft-bricked" a couple of months back by playin around with custom roms) instead. This time around I managed to get the bugger working due to new better software having been released since I originally stuffed it. But anyway I think the problem with the samsung is that the glass screen goes to the very edge of the front of the phone top and bottom making it very easy to smash when dropped. The htc has a good 10mm clearance at the top and a few mm at the bottom. I've dropped it a few times without any damage. Htcs are built a bit more solidly in my opinion...and the sense software is a bit easier to get your head around than the samsung touchwiz, which is nice but a big drain on battery and resources.
