Default How much does everyone charge for weed spraying in gardens and spraying of lawns ?

Hi everyone, i'm sure this has been asked before but i was just wondering what people are charging now for spraying weed killer on gardens and how much for doing a lawn spray with say Kamba M. With a backpack sprayer you might only spend 10 mins spraying some weeds in and around gardens but spraying for weeds on a lawn could take up to 1/2 hour. So say you worked on $1 a minute and it took you 1/2 hr that would be $30 plus the cost of the chemical and your exposure to it, would $50 for a lawn spray be too much and say $25 for a garden and around house ? Or am i way off with this ? Anyway thanks

    Matt

Better discussed elsewhere in the forum but when you factor in in measuring the area, calibrating your equipment, spraying the area, filling out your spray record requirements in triplicate with a copy for the client, suiting up with safety gear etc, filling and rinsing equipment etc etc, the cost is representative of exactly what it should be; ie not cheap.

Sorry Hap. Must have become a learned behavioural response .

Internet sucks and it's impossible to know who's meaning what with typed words anymore.

Seems to be different prices for different areas and States. In NSW inner sydney, If i'm doing the lawn, I charge $10-$20 per house for weed spraying as extra.

    G'day Matt
I'm in Newcastle NSW and last year I charged the client the same as a mow to do a broadleaf spray on their lawn.
It's a lot quicker to spray the lawn than mow it but there is chemical cost plus set up and cleanup times. If its a big lawn or slightly under quoted I will sometimes add the chemical cost to the invoice.
Then anyone that gets their lawn sprayed also gets a fert app in late winter, early spring which is also the same cost as a mow.
Do this when the lawns are at 4weekly and you set your client up to pay you 2weekly before the growth starts in spring 2 months earlier than they would normally.(mow,2weeks,spray,2weeks,mow,2weeks,fert, 2weeks,mow,2weeks,mow).
If your keen you can also spray for broadleaf late autumn/early winter as well...
If they are not so keen then throw in the fert app for free the first year then they will see the results and will want it the following year.
Then the fert app can be done again every 10 weeks until the end of autumn.
There is also top dressing to do in early spring which I try to do before the lawns go to 2weekly and I will top dress their lawn every 2years with an organic mix that breaks down as to add nutrient not height. If its uneven then mix in 25% sandy top dress with the organic mix.
With top dress, chem spray and fert you can keep your income to almost 2weekly payments all year.

I love the way you have it organised HPM. excellent way to guarantee a fortnightly income.
I must have read the post wrong.
For lawn spraying weeds and topsoil, I charge the same as a mow.

Topsoil is an hourly rate plus cost of soil.
Spray is same as a mow plus chem if needed.
Fert is same cost as mow.

Happy if your copping cr@p on here about your pricing have you ever thought it might be you that may be wrong? There is a lot of experienced people here with a lot more experience than 3 years......

Hey Matt when I was with VIP we got told to spray a lawn the rule of thumb was the same price to mow as to spray. This is what most of the VIP Franchise guys did when I was doing it. It takes a lot less time to spray than to mow, less than half and the product if its for bindi, clover, broardleaf etc its cheap to buy..
