    Default leaflet longevity

Yes we've all heard the stories of years later but surely thats not the norm.
After delivery what's the consenses on their longevity ?
I would assume in most cases about a week?
    What's your opinion?
    Cheers Fred.

5 minutes in my case, not a junk mail fan - mine have been postcard style/paper lately, hoping they might be more "keepable" lol....wishful thinking

when delivering mine, we take note of when my wife delivers an area (we have the suburb i work in broken into about 8 areas, which take her one to two days to deliver an area)

the mowing ones can be anything up to about 2 months EASILY before i get a call - this happens quite often.

i rarely get calls immediately, it is most often at least 1 to 2 weeks between delivery and calling,

with my previous business, which is a big ticket item, they can be kept up to about 18 months i think was the record i tracked.

i find people think "i may need that soon" and it goes on the fridge or in a drawer in the kitchen with the take away menus, and you get a call ages after you deliver.

why i like flyers as averse to things like websites (not dissing websites, im getting mine going to see what i see this summer) - is that flyers seem to PROMPT people to action that they may not have initiated themselves, or at least until later - whereas websites/phone books/ newpapers they wait until theyre ready to act before they look you up, then you may have to compete with several others in google etc,

the flyers have always been the best bang for the buck (when wife-delivered) for me, but again, the website cost me $90 for a years unlimited hosting, and $24 for 2 years domain registration per domain ( i am running 2 domains on the hosting) - so eventually the website may take over from the flyers, but as my wife enjoys delivering them for some exercise and to feel included in the business, i will prolly let her target different areas for me for major things like hedges and gutter cleaning, if she wants to continue

i know i know, a bible, but i thought it was relevant to the thread,

and i know, MARKETING rubbish again, lets just talk about mowing a lawn and post benny hill videos with 70's p**n music on them of us mowing lawns

    lol

    cheers

I stayed at a mates holiday house down at sus*** inlet earlier in the year and the side of the fridge was covered in flyers, fast food menus etc. Some of the phone numbers were still 7 digits. So they'd be maybe 20 years old?

I found with flyers people will keep a flyer and ring when they need you. Its not unusual for someone to sometimes ring 1 year after putting it out. There must be a lot of people that dont keep the flyer and think "I wish I had kept that flyer" then think ah well I better get someone off the net.
I gotta say I get a lot better results from my website than flyers given the work involved with flyers its a no brainer.

It really depends on the flyer ( i won't go into the boring details why).

Most my enquires come within 1 - 4 weeks although I've still recieved enquiries upto 3 months, 6 months and even 1 year after the drop.

Anything Ian says may or may not be garbage, it may also be his own opinion or it may not be his opinion at all, it may just be something he felt like stating anyone following his advice does so at their own risk and may be doing something Ian would actually advise against.
And if you don't like what Ian has to say use the ignore function if you don't know how ask i will gladly tell you
