Im really quite suprised you have'nt heard of gardening apprenticeships Paul.
When I did my apprenticeship between 78-82, there used to be a tradesman to apprentice ratio.
I dont know what it is these days.
    Cheers Fred.

To have an apprentice working for you, you need to be qualified in the same area/field they are studying.
They go to take one day a week, but also get paid when there,

Not sure Fred what the ratio is now, as here is me, one apprentice and a couple of casuals.

I've never really heard of it for gardening around these parts before Fred. A lot of guys I know around here just have unqualified casual labourers helping them with their rounds.
